I was browsing the job archives on Upwork one day and stumbled across what I found to be an extremely interesting job listing. It was automotively-inclined and geared toward what appeared to be a positively-influenced people type. The mission seemed simple: they would need six emojis designed for their product to match a certain design type, and they only needed a recreation of one for the proposal to decide who they would select for the bid. Automotive? Graphics? Sounds like it was just down my line and I was a perfect fit already!
However... the company wanted vectors... I hate vector graphics. Do not get me wrong, I appreciate everything vectors have to offer -- I just find them severely limited and tedious to work with. Also, they wanted them in .ai format. Ungh... Adobe products? Again, don't get me wrong, Adobe makes fantastic products that have no limit to power and possibility. However, they are extremely expensive and out of pocket range for an honest family man like myself. So, after hours of research and bringing myself around to accepting the task of touching vectors, I open my splendid, free, powerful software package: Inkscape. For the job proposal Motormood requested the recreation of a "wide grin" emoji. I found the example they provided horrid -- looking more like a strained poo face than a happy wide grin. So, I took it upon myself to recreate their version and then also generate my own emoji that I thought more along the lines of a good wide grin. |
