Alright - as you may already know - Jerome and I have both gone past the contest entry deadline. What can I say? We're busy people. Nonetheless, we continue to toil through and see what we can do. I have manipulated and changed various materials and textures and it looks like we're getting a bit closer but it is still missing some touches... Can't wait to see the outcome soon!

Been beating my head for the past few days trying to figure out how to simply tile a procedural map in Blender Nodes! Nodes, I love you, but major 3D packages have you beat in the materials department. 3D studio was nothing more than increasing a value and changing UV coordinates was no harder than manipulating a dummy object.
Finally, I think I have the idea down and it is working kinda... I have been busy selecting faces and assigning materials. I have been playing with Nodes, but I'm not sure if I am getting the hang of it. I basically tried to color the body white, but in rendering white doesn't seem to show. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I hope I get it straight before the competition is over!
Here are progress pictures from today: For the most part, done with the modeling aside from a few tweaks I want to make later. I think it is time to start texturing!
I am almost done with the primary model, I think. Going to add a few more details for edges, et cetera. Will have to smooth out the wrinkles and start adding materials/textures next... Huzzah!
